Teign U3A

The u3a is an organisation for those who are no longer in full-time employment.  Members meet with others in a variety of interest groups to learn new things by sharing knowledge, skills, and experience.

Teign u3a, based in Newton Abbot, covers the surrounding villages and has over 500 members, with over 70 groups.  We meet every fourth Thursday of the month at 2.00pm at St Paul’s Church, Devon Square.

Other groups meet at various venues in and around Newton Abbot.  Examples of our groups include groups of mixed ability, gardening, languages.  We play bridge, board games, Mahjong, and whist. We also have book, history, music, science, and language groups.  There are active curry, pub quiz, and wine appreciation groups.

Two of our groups – Armchair Travel and History – meet monthly at Ogwell Memorial Hall.

New groups are regularly added to the list.

Our annual subscription is £30, and you can join as many groups as you like at no extra cost.

For further information, please come along to one of monthly meetings when we have a speaker, or to one of our regular new members’ mornings, held at Austins coffee shop in Newton Abbot.
