Teign U3A
The U3A is an international organisation for those who are retired or semi-retired. Members meet with others in a variety of interest groups to learn new things by sharing knowledge, skills and experience.
Teign U3A, centred on Newton Abbot, has over 300 members and we meet for a monthly meeting, with a speaker, in the Courtenay Centre, Newton Abbot, on the 4th Thursday of the month at 2pm. Visitors are welcome.
In addition to the monthly meetings, we have about 40 groups, a couple of which meet at Ogwell Memorial Hall. Our activities at Ogwell are history and armchair travel.
Other groups meet at the Courtenay Centre, other venues or in members’ homes. We have walking groups, sewing and crochet groups, we play bridge, board games, canasta, mah jongg, whist and scrabble. We have several book, history, music, science and language groups.
Our annual subscription is £25 and you can join as many groups as you like at no extra cost. We do ask visitors at our monthly meeting to pay £1 for tea/coffee and biscuits, refreshments are free for our members. Why not come along and see what we do? You would be very welcome.
