Ogwell’s Neighbourhood Plan is our opportunity to have a say in what happens in our community between now and 2033.
Local volunteers have spent the last three years talking to the people of Ogwell and have prepared a draft document to reflect the views of the community. Ultimately the hope and expectation is that the Plan will be accepted as a document that has to be consulted by all organisations with power to make decisions affecting us living in this parish. Before this can happen there are two more steps to take:
The draft Plan firstly has to be approved by Teignbridge District Council. This is because it has to contain certain statutory information and it cannot conflict with Teignbridge’s own Local Plan.
- The draft Plan firstly has to be approved by Teignbridge District Council. This is because it has to contain certain statutory information and it cannot conflict with Teignbridge’s own Local Plan.
- It then has to be approved by a majority of Ogwell parishioners voting in a local referendum.
A copy of the draft (pre-submission) Plan can be viewed on this website by clicking on the “Ogwell Parish Plan” tab, where you can also see many of the documents produced during the extensive consultation and research that preceded it.
Many of you will already have made valuable contributions to this consultation process and there is now another opportunity between now and 3rd October to comment on this document which, if approved by TDC, will be the subject of the referendum vote that will be held probably early in 2017.
This is our Plan and your continuing involvement in shaping it is essential.
