Our now annual Summer Fair was a wonderful affair with the weather on our side as plenty of people enjoyed the afternoon. After the Fair was declared open by Michael Simmons, Chair of the Parish Council, we kicked off, (quite literally!), with an impressive Tae kwon do demonstration by Martial Arts for Fun,  followed by a wonderful parade of dogs and owners for the Dog Show. Best in Show went to a striking Great Dane, Darlia, owned by Michael Ray carrying off the Cup. Elsewhere on the Green, people were able to try their hand at the many side shows or simply relax with a drink or a cream tea and soak up the atmosphere to the sound of the Ian Milsom duo. More music was to follow with the Canada Hill Primary School Music Group and Village Choir and there was plenty for the children with Cosmo’s Magic Show, Bouncy Castle fun and much more. In the evening the sun went down to the sounds of Jukebox Fury to conclude a fantastic community day.

I would like to thank the whole of the Fair Committee for their huge effort in organising this event and also all those who turned out to help, whether manning a stall, baking a cake, putting up the marquee or donating. We were supported by parishioners and local companies as well as our own Parish Council and District Councillor. Finally thank you all those who came out in great numbers and supported the event.

We are always looking for more help so if you would like to be part of the event next year and help make it happen please get in touch, we would love to hear from you. We hope to give news soon of how much profit was made and how community organisations can apply for a share.
